Another article on the effects of spay/neuter on our dogs:

There is also this article discussing the long term effects of spay/neuter and cognitive impairment as a dog ages. Mojo may be an example of this, because as he ages he is having episodes of what I will call bewilderment. He is healthy and still very mobile and active but there are times when he almost seems to enter a state where he doesn't know where he is even though his sight and hearing are still intact. Hmmm, not unlike his aging owner. Mojo was neutered when he was about three years old.

In Europe dogs are routinely left intact and it doesn't seem to create the problems that it does in North America. Different culture I guess.
