Circovirus is beginning to rear its head

Circovirus heads up in Md, could be anywhere.  If your dog develops diarrhea and/or vomiting please take them to the vet immediately.

There are some theories that this virus is spread from pigs to birds and then to dogs, but because it's new to the dog world there is no tracking set in place.  Treat this like the parvo virus.  It's serious.

All eyes are open.

Yesterday, Star and Clover opened their eyes, and the rest opened their eyes today.  They are gaining quite rapidly now and will soon be up on their feet and moving freely.  Their ears will open by next week.

Last but not least, Cricket (443) and Rain (470)

That's Rain on the left and Cricket on the right.  Both are marked almost the same except Rain's white mark on is on her left shoulder and Cricket's in on the right.

Star - 350

Here's the puppy, Star, the smallest male and the one with the most black.

Charlie 500

Here's Charlie who is over 500 grams now.  He wouldn't stay still long enough to get an accurate weight. He was the last born, our surprise package, but first at the trough.

Penny 500 g

Penny is very plump, as well as being interesting genetically.  She has irish pied markings and also tan points.  The white hour glass blaze on her face, white stockings, white collar and tail tip make her an irish pied but the tan marks on the side of her face, eyebrowns and under her tail are tan points like Charo from the last litter. They aren't going to stay tan, but will fade to white as she grows.

Roo - 410grams and Clover 349

I just didn't have the heart to wake these two so I took their picture together

Buddy - 432 grams

Buddy, the second born and the first male

Lady - 400 grams

Tomorrow the pups will be two weeks old. I'll add pictures one at a time which will probably take all day.

Dunka says "Hello"

I love it when Sonrisas puppy owners send pictures!

Lucky K9 Litter

Lucky K9 Litter – symbols of good luck

Girls
Lady
Ladybug
A harbinger of luck and prosperity, the ladybug is a symbol of patience, good health, and wealth. A ladybug that lands on an individual is said to take away any illness that plagued him/her. A ladybug perching herself on a recently married woman brings happiness and joy. Killing it entails ill fortune and bad luck.

Cricket
For thousands of years, the cricket has symbolized good fortune. Finding a cricket on the hearth meant protection for home and family. This one, in solid brass, won't hop away once it's been given a home. Keep one on your hearth or mantel; give one to a friend to wish luck and good fortune.

Penny
Call them the luck bringers, for spotting a penny lying on the floor is indeed your luck smiling down at you. Luck is not just about pennies lying about on the floor, but every coin that you find catching dust. You know the saying, "Find a penny, pick it up, and all that day you'll have good luck!"

Clover
The most recognized Celtic good luck symbol is that of the four-leaf clover. Each leaf of the clover is associated with a characteristic namely, fame, wealth, love, and health. Wearing a four-leaf clover will ensure that no harm comes close to you, besides, it will bring you closer to your loved one.

Rain
Rainbow
A sign of a new covenant and happiness, rainbows have long been associated with luck. What makes it better is the possibility of finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Boys
Bud
Budai (the laughing Buddha)
Considered to be one of the gods of wealth by the Buddhists, the Budai or laughing Buddha is associated with prosperity, success, and financial gains. Placing the Buddha diagonally opposite the main door activates and greets the good energy entering the premise. While the Budai is admired for his happiness, plenitude, and wisdom of contentment, rubbing his belly is believed to bring good luck.

Roo
Rooster
Having a rooster in the kitchen is a symbol of luck, health, and prosperity in many European cultures.

Star
A falling star or a "shooting" star as it is sometimes called, grants the person lucky enough to see it, a secret wish.

Charlie

Good Luck Charlie is an American sitcom which originally aired on Disney Channel from April 4, 2010 to February 16, 2014.

And then there were nine!

All pups were a good weight.  They are quiet this morning so things look good.  Five females, four males.  If anyone has an idea for a theme please share.  There was a movie called Nine and there are nine planets in the solar system, but still looking for ideas.

It's Two in the morning.

We were cleaning up after helping Lusa deliver her eight puppies and when we went back in to check on everyone, there were nine puppies.  Five girls, four boys.  I'm afraid to go in and check again.
