Never stop learning about dogs.

Did you know that your Havanese's nose print is as unique as a fingerprint? It's true! No two nose prints are the same and they could be used to identify your dog, just like a fingerprint can be used to identify a human?

Lusa on approximately day 40 of 63.

Lusa is now getting about 3 or 4 small meals a day rather than 2 bigger ones.  She still has about three weeks to go so will take her in swimming each day to give her a bit of exercise and to keep her cool.  

The vets saw seven healthy looking puppies and is pretty sure there is an eighth.  Excitement reigns at our house mid August.  Will post a picture of Lusa, she is pretty big already!

Mojo has turned thirteen years old!

Yesterday was Mojo's birthday and he is now 13 years old.  Time for a swim!

Other than Mojo who is 13 in three days, the oldest dogs at the picnic were Hava Java (9) and Oreo, from Rochester, NY out of Molli's last litter.  Oreo will be nine years old this fall, followed by Murphy who just turned eight.  The furthest away was Merci who came all the way from Missouri to see her extended doggy family.  I can't thank all of you enough for coming, it's what makes all the work of breeding worthwhile.

I heard that they were sleeping under the chair and  scared poor Jean.  She thought they had gotten out somehow.  Had that happen with  a puppy one time.  :-)  Lusa couldn't go to the picnic because she is pregnant and George couldn't go because several of the girls that were there are in heat.  Hopefully they'll be able to go next summer.
