The Wizard, the only male was born 185 grams and is now 269. I suspect that his face will grey as he matures.

Food, treats and bowls
Please, in order to protect your pet do not buy any food, bowls or treats from any of the large chain stores.

Costco treats are also on alert. I make my own treats and it's pretty easy. I'll post the recipe later today.
Dog food is not regulated in Canada and just because the bag says Made in Canada does not mean that all the ingredients are from Canada.

Sonrisas Allegro Giocoso - Allie
Allie, who lives in Florida now, is not only a potential show dog, but therapy dog as well. The Havanese temperament is perfect for jobs like this and Allie seems to have made a rather good impression with the retired folks in Florida.

Names and Theme for This Litter
Thanks to Laurie and her son Clark we have a theme for the litter. This will be the Wizard of Oz litter. All puppies have gained weight and pictures will follow later today. All information is from Wikipedia
In birth order (weight in grams at birth, this morning):
1. Girl - Abatha, (160, 163)
Abatha (Good Witch of the East) is the title character in Eric Shanower's graphic novel, The Blue Witch of Oz. She fell under a spell during a custody battle with her brother-in-law over custody of her son.
2. Girl - Aunti Em (150, 154) We all know who Aunt Em is
3. Girl - Betsy Bobbin (130, 134)
Betsy Bobbin is a character whose first book appearance is in Tik-Tok of Oz (she was introduced in the 1913 stage production The Tik-Tok Man of Oz). Here she teams up with Shaggy Man and together they go to the Nome King's Caverns. In later books, she, Dorothy and Trot are constant companions and allies of Ozma. Although created as a new character, Betsy has a great deal in common with Dorothy. For example, Dorothy, who is from Kansas, washed up onto the shores of Ev with a chicken named Billina, and Betsy, who is from Oklahoma, arrives in a similar manner with a mule named Hank. Both girls are headstrong and courageous.
4. Boy - The Wizard (183, 185)
5. Girl - Cayke (169, 175)
Cayke, or Cayke the Cookie Cook as she is also called, is a character who appears in the book The Lost Princess of Oz (1917).[2] She is a Yip, a resident of a remote plateau in Oz; she is noted for the delicious cookies she bakes in her diamond-studded gold dishpan. Cayke knows that the dishpan has magic powers; she admits to the Frogman that without it she is a poor cook, and her cookies are "pretty poor stuff and no better than any woman could make who does not own [her] diamond-studded gold dishpan." However, she has no idea that her magic dishpan can carry its occupants anywhere they desire to go. Ugu the shoemaker steals Cayke's dishpan and uses it to kidnap Ozma and steal all the magic in the Land of Oz.
6. Girl - Glinda (182, 190)

Willow's X-ray
My vet says six, but I think there's one hiding behind another puppy in the upper left hand corner? What do you think?

Willow will be x-rayed a week today!
The ultrasound showed seven or eight puppies so we're going to be busy around here!
Here's Willow, she has the same coloring as her mom. (Yesterday's post) The other picture is one of her pups (Daisy) from last summer. Daisy 's the one that lives at the Good Earth Food and Wine Co. in Beamsville, On. The other picture is of Merci who is a George/Willow puppy.

BG's Salix Lapponum
We took Willow to the vets to have an ultrasound and while I was hoping that there were at least four or five puppies because that is actually easier for the mother than to have one or two, the vet saw seven or eight. Willow is so small, I just can't imagine her carrying all those puppies, but she had six in her first litter with absolutely no problems. We are now feeding her three and four small meals (because she doesn't have much room left for food) a day to keep her well nourished. She has about two and a half weeks to go. This will be Willow's last litter and then she will be going to her forever home.
